From a Sugarcane Stalk to Your Table: Our Story at the 140th Canton Fair

Autumn 2026. The 140th Canton Fair opened in Guangzhou.

in the same year the fair marked its 70th anniversary, and one theme ran through all three phases: going green. In Phase 2 alone, nearly 640,000 green and low-carbon products were on display, accounting for 26.9% of all exhibits.

In the kitchenware section, fully biodegradable tableware made from bagasse and plant fibers was picked up, examined, and questioned by buyer after buyer—and that is exactly where we set up our booth, with a full sugarcane pulp line.

The first question most visitors ask is simple:isn’t sugarcane for sugar? It is.

What we use is the fibrous residue left after the juice has been extracted—a by-product of sugar production. That residue goes through pulping, high-temperature molding, trimming, and UV sterilization to become plates, bowls, and cups. No tree is felled, no chemical binder is required.
The manufacturing process emits roughly 97% less CO₂ than conventional plastic containers, and the sugarcane itself has already drawn carbon out of the air while growing. A single plate travels from an agricultural residue pile to a dining table along a route that keeps carbon in the soil rather than in the atmosphere.

The centerpiece of our booth is the bagasse tableware range.

Oil-proof and water-proof are baseline requirements. The products handle temperatures from -18°C to 220°C, going straight from freezer to microwave to oven without drama. Plates and cups hold their shape under hot oil and hot liquid—no sagging, no leaking, no paper-soft collapse.
They are certified under FDA food-contact standards, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and carry OK COMPOST HOME and OK COMPOST INDUSTRY certifications. After use, they break down in composting conditions in roughly 60 days into CO₂, water, and humus, returning to the soil alongside food waste. This is not a “less bad” compromise. It is a closed loop from source to end.

Alongside the tableware, we are showing sugarcane pulp tissue paper.
The fiber comes from the same sugarcane stream, with no fluorescent whitening agents and no bleaching. The paper carries a natural cream tone, soft but resilient, with the faint fuzz of plant fiber.
Our position is simple: paper does not need to be blinding white to be clean. When buyers start asking where a product comes from and where it goes after use, sugarcane pulp gives a clear answer—no trees cut, no bleach, fully degradable.

Our product philosophy condenses into one line: from nature, back to nature. Bagasse is not an invented material. It has always been sitting at the tail end of the sugar supply chain, waiting to be seen again. Over seventy years, Canton Fair has tracked Chinese manufacturing from price to quality to green. At this particular moment, we are not interested in slapping an “eco” label onto a cup. We are interested in building products whose production logic survives a buyer’s line-by-line questions about performance, certification, and carbon footprint.

The fair is still running. If you are looking for a supplier that answers both “does it work” and “is it responsible,” come sit with us. What we brought is not a concept. It is a certified, container-ready sugarcane pulp line, ready for your market.
